TODAY – The 60th Annual Grammy Awards
The 60th Annual Grammy Awards are held on January 28, 2018, broadcast from Madison Square Garden in New York City, airing on CBS from 7:30 to 11 p.m. ET.
Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, and Bruno Mars are this year’s most-nominated artists. Jay-Z landed eight nominations for 4:44, including Album, Record, and Song of the Year. Kendrick Lamar earned seven nominations for DAMN., including one for Album of the Year, and Bruno Mars landed eight for 24K Magic, including Album, Record, and Song of the Year. Album of the Year promises to be a close race, with 4:44 facing off against DAMN. and 24K Magic, as well as Lorde’s Melodrama and Childish Gambino’s “Awaken, My Love!”
Scheduled performers at this year’s ceremony include Kendrick Lamar, Bruno Mars and Cardi B, Kesha, Pink, Lady Gaga, Sam Smith, U2, SZA, Little Big Town, Chris Stapelton, Alessia Cara, Khalid and Logic, and more. James Corden will return as host.
The 2018 Grammy Awards are also moving back to New York City after 15 years in Los Angeles, and plan to honor that fact with an homage to something unique to the city: Broadway. The legendary Patti LuPone will perform her iconic version of Evita’s “Don’t Cry for Me, Argentina,” while 2017 Tony winner Ben Platt (Dear Evan Hansen) will take on a number from West Side Story.
Outside of the performances, many nominees and attendees reportedly plan to wear white roses at the Grammy Awards to show solidarity with Hollywood’s Time’s Up initiative.
