Garcelle Beauvais Launches Production Company
Actress Garcelle Beauvais has returned home to her native Haiti to shoot a hard-hitting new short film about sex trafficking.
The movie, in which she plays a twisted nun, is the first project for her new production company Beauvais Wilson Productions.
“It really is powerful,” the former NYPD Blue star tells Access Hollywood Live. “We really wanted to come out of the gate with something strong and something to bring awareness to something that I think we all need to pay attention to.
“It’s a story of these two little girls who get kidnapped and taken to an orphanage, and I play a nun that runs the orphanage and she uses it for… not for what you think.”
Haitian-American actress and former fashion model, she is best known for her roles as Francesca “Fancy” Monroe on The WB television sitcom, The Jamie Foxx Show, which ran from 1996 to 2001, and as Valerie Heywood on the ABC crime drama, NYPD Blue.
