Miranda Lambert To SoundTrack New Grace Helbig Movie
Country singer Miranda Lambert has signed on as executive music producer for Grace Helbig’s new movie comedy Something in the Water. Lambert will choose the film’s music and also contribute an original track to the score.
The movie is a comedy about five women who challenge their men to a fishing competition. Helbig will also star in the film, which will mark the feature directorial debut of Trey Fanjoy, the music-video director behind many of Lambert’s videos, including Vice, The House That Built Me and the cinematic Somethin’ Bad with Carrie Underwood. Filming for Something in the Water will begin in Nashville later this year.
Miranda Lambert once appeared in a 2012 episode of Law & Order: SVU, playing a victim of assault. Her involvement in Something in the Water stands as her first credit as a film music producer. On July 18, 2016, Lambert released Vice to country radio and digital outlets. Written by Lambert, Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne, it was her first song released since Platinum. In September, Lambert announced her sixth studio album, The Weight of These Wings, which was released on November 18, 2016. She was selected as one of 30 artists to perform on Forever Country, a mash-up track of Take Me Home, Country Roads, On the Road Again and I Will Always Love You which celebrates 50 years of the CMA Awards.
Something in the Water will be Miranda’s first credit as a film music producer.
