Sandra Oh risked the wrath of Grey’s Anatomy fans as she confirmed she would not be returning to the medical drama series. The 45-year-old left the show in 2014 after nearly a decade of playing outspoken doctor Cristina Yang, and rumors she would be returning to the fictional Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital have swirled since her emotional departure.
However, Sandra scolded those who were responsible for suggesting she would be reprising her much-loved character.
“I’ve gotta tell you those rumors, I don’t know who starts them but it really is tough,” she told Entertainment Tonight at the Toronto International Film Festival.
“No, I have no plans to return to Grey’s anytime soon,” she confirmed.
Back in April, Sandra was coy about a possible to return to the long-running ABC show. “I love that there are rumors,” she told the LA Times.
And Grey’s Anatomy fans were overjoyed when the actress reunited with her former on-screen husband Kevin McKidd back in June, even commenting on his character’s new TV wife, played by Caterina Scorsone. “Look who got together last nite (sic) for martinis and gossip! You can bet we discussed Owens recent marriage to Amelia!!!,” she captioned the snap on Twitter.
“So much love 2 @caterinatweets Yay Canada. But he’s Myyy Tv hubby! (sic)” she joked in the post.
