Alec Baldwin Signs On As Saturday Night Live’s New Donald Trump
Alec Baldwin has signed on to mimic U.S. presidential hopeful Donald Trump on the upcoming season of American sketch show Saturday Night Live.
The actor, who has also guest-hosted the program more than any other celebrity, took on the role over the summer after SNL boss Lorne Michaels asked him to perfect his Trump impression.
Baldwin will debut his Donald doppelganger on the season premiere of the show this weekend, according to The Hollywood Reporter, and he’ll make repeat appearances in skits throughout the U.S. presidential election process.
SNL’s previous Trumps have included Darrell Hammond and Taran Killam, while the property tycoon himself hosted the show in November.
This weekend’s premiere episode will feature Margot Robbie as host and The Weeknd as musical guest.
Americans go to the polls to vote Republican Trump or his Democrat rival Hillary Clinton in as the next U.S. President in November.
