Pop Sensations R5 To Ring In 2016 At Venetian Las Vegas Concerts
Pop powerhouse quintet R5 will ring in the New Year with three Venetian Las Vegas performances. R5 will perform three headline shows inside The Venetian Theatre, Dec. 29 and 31, 2015 and Jan. 1, 2016.
Having played to sold out crowds around the world, R5 has rapidly emerged as an electrifying new voice in the world of pop/rock. Led by vocalist/rhythm guitarist Ross Lynch, R5 came together in 2009 and is comprised of Lynch’s siblings Riker (bass/vocals), Rocky (lead guitar/vocals) and Rydel (keyboard/vocals) and friend Ellington Ratliff (drums/vocals). The groove-heavy, guitar driven sophomore album, Sometime Last Night, was released in July of 2015 and debut #1 on the Pop Album chart and top 10 on the Billboard 200 chart.
R5 will perform at The Venetian Theatre at 8 p.m. on Dec. 29 and Jan. 1. On New Year’s Eve, the group will perform at 7:30 p.m.
“We are excited to bring these popular musicians to our guests to close out 2015 and welcome 2016,” said George Markantonis, president and chief operating officer of The Venetian, The Palazzo and Sands Expo. “Fans of all ages will enjoy this opportunity to see them in the intimate and beautiful Venetian Theatre.”
The Venetian Theatre has been home to several live music residencies, including “Soul2Soul” with Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, “The Essential Diana Ross” and “The Judds – Girls Night Out.” In January, it will be home to iconic musician John Fogerty.
At midnight on New Year’s Eve, the entire Las Vegas Strip gets into the party with approximately 80,000 pyrotechnic shells deployed from 11 casino rooftops – including The Venetian. Officially called “America’s Party 2016,” the Las Vegas New Year’s Eve party was named one of the top places in the world to celebrate the holiday by Fodor’s, Travel + Leisure, Food & Wine and National Geographic.
Tickets start at $55.50 (plus applicable fees) on all nights but New Year’s Eve. On Dec. 31, tickets start at $75.50 (plus applicable fees). Tickets go on sale Thursday, Oct. 22 at 10 a.m. PDT at any box office at The Venetian or The Palazzo Box, online at www.venetian.com/R5 or by calling (702) 414-9000 or (866) 641-7469.
