Lil Chris Found Dead At Age 24
Lil Chris, the singer who found fame on the TV reality show Rock School, has died suddenly at the age of 24.
Suffolk Police said they are not treating the death of suspicious.
The performer, real name Chris Hardman, featured in the second series of Rock School, a Channel 4 documentary, in 2006.
The show saw Gene Simmons of Kiss take a group of teenagers from a comprehensive school in Lowestoft and turn them into a rock band.
Allan Dodgeon, who managed Chris for a year from 2013, said he was in “complete shock”.
He said: “He was an outstanding talent and it was a pleasure to work with him. Our thoughts are with his friends and family.”
A Suffolk Police spokeswoman said: “Police investigating the sudden death of a man in Lowestoft can confirm they are not treating it as suspicious.
“Officers received a call from the ambulance service on Monday 23 March at around 11:45am and attended an address in Union Road following a sudden death of a 24-year-old man.
A post mortem examination is due to take place to establish the cause of death and a file will be passed to the coroner in due course and an inquest opened.”
In 2006 after the show ended, Hardman wrote of Simmons: “I miss him. I think we all do. He became a friend, showed us what’s out there. It’s opened the door and I’m going to walk through it. Nothing will stand in my way.”
