The Kardashians Threatened To Leave E
The Kardashian clan threatened to walk from their longtime cable home in a hardball move that ultimately led to a mind-blowing, $100 million deal, sources said.
A source close to the tense talks said that momager Kris Jenner was a lead negotiator for her family, which will be back for four more years of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.”
The insider said: “This has been in the works for almost a year. Kris is a fierce negotiator . . . She was playing major hardball and threatening to leave.” Ultimately, the network was forced to keep their best-known asset at almost any cost.
The source added, “E! needs them.” If E! needed a reminder of how much it counts on the Kardashians, Kim thanked her fans last night for building her Instagram following to 27 million.
While E! parent NBCUniversal tried to rebuff the $100 million figure, sources said the deal is that big, but suits don’t want it to hamper merger talks or other talent deals.
