Bride Writes Scathing Letter Uninviting Parents To Wedding
A bride who said she was fed up with her “bitter” parents wrote a letter uninviting them to her wedding – which then went viral after she posted it on social media.
Alyssa Pearce, 23, from Adelaide, Australia, said she did not want her parents as guests and posted the anti-invite online ahead of her wedding to her husband Alex, 28, who she is now happily married to.
It has since been shared thousands of times, with the letter being met with messages of support online.
In her original post Mrs Pearce, a PhD student, said a family fall-out drove her to run away from home at the age of 16.
She said that despite the family’s history, her parents were still pushing for an invitation to her wedding, and wrote: “There was really only one way to respond.”
Mrs Pearce uploaded a picture of her wedding un-invitation, which says: “Together with our friends and family, Alex and Alyssa, would like to invite you to suck it and bask in our happiness, your bitterness and our mutual irritation at each other’s existence… As we completely ignore yours and celebrate our marriage without you.
